Cultivating community is the core of who we are.
The Blue Foot fund aims to empower communities from coffee country to Main Street America.
The Blue Foot Fund
The Blue Foot Fund is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to attain their dreams, regardless of race, gender, or class. Our intention is to put money directly in the hands of folks ready to reach their goals while bringing their community together. We understand that having access to money to care for yourself, your family, and your community is fundamental to fulfilling your personal goals. Getting to that goal should not be so tricky. That is why we donate 100% of our Blue Foot Fund to Springboard to Opportunities.
When searching for a home to invest our funds, Springboard to Opportunities really stood out and echoed our vision. We believe that community is the core of who we are and residents should be the ones leading their communities’ enhancement. Springboard to Opportunities provides a multitude of programs that advance folks in life, school, and work. By working directly with families living in poverty and having them take part in the organizations planning for change, Springboard’s efforts ensure that they are given ownership of the process and are empowered to advocate in their communities. Why “The Blue Foot Fund?”
Have you ever heard of the blue footed booby? Our fund is named for a bird found on the Galapagos Islands, aptly named for their bright blue feet. While they appear clumsy on land, they are exceptional divers and truly in tune with their environment.
We like the booby for a few reasons. First, they evoke a feeling of exploration, living on these remote landscapes off the coast of Ecuador. But more than that, we love them for their exceptional uniqueness. They are oddballs. They are not brave like the tiger, sly like the fox or wise like the owl. They are unsung heroes and they thrive in their environment. And with the Blue Foot Fund, we want to support and celebrate those who are ready to roll up their sleeves and thrive in their communities.
