This Fairtrade and Organic certified washed coffee is grown by a group of dedicated women in Uganda’s Mt Elgon Agroforestry Communities Cooperative Enterprise Ltd (MEACCE). Established in 2017, MEACCE represents over 3,000 smallholder farmers in the Mbale region of Eastern Uganda. While coffee is their main cash crop, they also grow other crops. MEACCE supports quality control and provides employment opportunities, especially for women, through hand-sorting coffee.
Tasting notes: The coffee has a rich aroma of dried fruit and leather, with a raisin-like, nutty tobacco flavor and a bright, acidic finish.
